today at technical theatre we talked about sound
we saw some videos showed by employees of the National theatre
this videos showed us how the sound works at a play or show.all the microphones and other things that are back stage and FOH to make the sound of things more realistic and more controllable like for instance in this play there in a mobile phone that goes off in the top left of the actor's jacket, for this they placed an speaker just inside the pocket.
Also we saw a video about Foley sounds, which are the special effects recorded to make a situation more realistic, like recording footsteps to make enfasis that the person is walking and to avoid any other sort if background noise.
then we listened to various songs, each one had a different style, the exercise consisted in describing what feelings the song gave us, for example if it would make you happy or sad, excited or calm, also describing a scene where this could be fitted.
i contributed to the lesson by talking how "circus fun fare" made me feel.
i thought it was a very happy song , made me feel restless, but at the same time i could place it on a horror scene.
